It has been a month since we arrived in Maine. Many of you have asked me what happened to my blog. Well, I don't have a good a good excuse other than just too busy. We are enjoying the live in Maine as always. Girls still are being tutored by a wonderful teacher.. They love her. Weather has been really nice. Actually today is the first day I took off my sweater. Since we got here so early this year, we actually had a spring, a real one. I saw many spring flowers and leaves changing. Yes, leaves do change during the spring time. As always, first thing we did when came up here was to visit the nursery in Yarmouth, the only one we know of here. Since our summer has been cut short due to kids schedule, we are only buying herbs.. not veges. Still, it is always fun to shop at a nursery. And, since we were here early, we actually saw our tulips this year. What a treat. I have always loved tulips.. It is so brightly beautiful. There are something about those blooding hearts. They only grow in the North. We have bunch of them in our front yard.. I love to photography them. They are so beautiful yet sad at the same time. OK. The family. We still love Maine. Best decision we ever made when Alex and I got married was to get a place in Maine. After almost 10 years, we still love it here. And our kids have grown up and love it here as much as we do. To watch Allison grow up on this beach is amazing. She used to walk along the edge of the water and wouldn't dip her toes in there for all the candies in the world. And the horse-craps.. Kelly would always pick them up and set them free to a different spot. It is just fun to move them. I agree. And those rocks.. the place my kids have been exploring since they were little babies. Kids grow up quickly.. rocks still the same. How time flies. Well, good thing I love photography, and I have hundreds thousands pictures to document the process. Alex has convinced me if I had to give up one thing, better to give up Facebook and go back to blogging. So, I am giving it a try one more time. I may just need a little bit time to catch up.

We have both girls enrolled at Credale School of Art for the past few weeks. They have been going there every Saturday for couple hours. It has been wonderful to see how Kelly enjoys working on her painting and she has created some beautiful work. Allison is not totally excited about painting, but has also created some good work. Kelly's cupcake Christmas tree.. Allison is doing a self portrait during this class.
There are many art festivals in Orlando this time of the year. Actually, every weekend, there is a art festival at downtown Orlando. Winter Park art festival always draws lot attention and artists from all over the country. In comparison, Sanford art festival is a much smaller and has a lot community feel. Kelly has growing more interests in jewelry making. We have decided to help her start her first business.. So, we took the opportunity to visit different form of art and artists. It was not disappointing. We saw many craft demonstrations. One artist creates all his art by using coffee. Kelly is mostly interested in Jewry making and spent a lot time visiting each booth and talking to them. I think she really has a heart in it.

It is nothing better then spend a hot Florida day at the beach. April is a busy month for Florida with all the Spring breakers. Our favorite hotel was booked, so we moved to the only thing that was available on the beach. The hotel was very disappointing, but the beach was not. We watched the one of the most beautiful sunset, saw a group of dolphins playing in the ocean, finished a bottle of scotch and couple bottles of wine with friends under the stars.. Kelly was away at a girl scout trip, so Allison got to play with Kelly's friend whole weekend. She was a happy girl.
Seem like yesterday, she was a pretty little daisy. This week, she passed the bridge and become a brownie.Daisy is a such wonderful experience for her. She is with a group of wonderful friends, they learned so much together and had so much fun along the way. She is now a confident brownie now. I can't wait to see if she can sell cookies next year..

This girl is good at many things, especially math. She is a self-claimed math girl. She always gets A in math. She gets perfect math score in her cold FCAT test. So, when she came home from her private school tryout day, and showed me a math sheet only 1/3 done, I was shocked. I couldn't believe it. I asked her why did she finish it, she said she doesn't know how to do it. It is not difficult math, 3 digits addition with grouping, she has done hundreds of them. They she said "Mom, I know how to solve the problem, I just don't know how to do it their way." After asking couple more questions, I realized it is Singapore Math that public school doesn't use, and she is not used to it. It reminded me when I first moved to U.S., my college math professor always amazed how fast I can come up with the correct answers. That's how I learned it in China. Singapore Math. So, five minutes later, we were sitting at a McDonald restaurant, I told her first Singapore math strategy, and she quickly got it.. and really into it. She is going to a very good private school, and I sure hope she will benefit from it. Today, Amazon delivered four Singapore Math books. It is going to be a fun summer. One thing I am sure, there is nothing in math can stop her. She is a math girl. And, I can't wait to turn her into a Singapore math girl!

This weekend is all about flowers and girls in a big hat.. Often people ask me why I am interested in photography.. I can't really explain. Whenever I see something, I see a picture. Then I will frame it into a beautiful one. So, when I see my little girl put on my big hat, I knew I need to pick up my camera.

Kelly is turning 10 next year. I told her I will throw a party celebrate a milestone, and I asked what would she likes for her 10th birthday. She said.. "I want my own phone, and mom, I also want you to buy me a house." My lovely skating girl loves to dream big.
